I've just had a great afternoon pottering about Jack and Harry's house. They have SO many cool toys. And textas. I loved taking the lids off all the textas, for some reason. Shame about dinner, though. It was meat and vegies - as if I was going to eat that!
It's nice to be able to go visiting again because I was really sick for a while there. My nose ran and my throat hurt and even my eyes dripped. I had to see Dr. Andrew twice. The first time he said I had a virus, but told me I needed eyedrops. But the night after seeing him I woke up about ten times and felt dreadful in the morning, so Mum took me back to the doctor again. This time I had to get antibiotics, which was really a raspberry tasting milky stuff and wasn't too bad. The eyedrops were awful, though. Dad held me down, and Mum dripped stuff in my eyes while I howled. After a day of that I kept saying, 'not my eyedrops, Mum', whenever she came near me. They forced the eyedrops into me for four whole days before stopping. Unfortunately my eyes got goopy again after a day, so I had to suffer another few days of the drops before they cleared up fully.
Once I started to feel better Mum and Dad got sick, so we still couldn't go out. It was all a bit dull, but Oskar and I improvised pretty well I think. Oskar has got really good at building cubby houses out of all the cushions from the loungeroom chairs and couch. We get our blankets and bears and muck around in the cubby. It's all good fun until I knock it down and Oskar yells at me, but I can deal with that.
I'm loving reading at the moment. Each book has to be read to me three times and I've started asking whoever's reading the book, 'what's that say?' while I point to some letters. I particularly like Goodnight Moon, Goodnight Gorilla, the Dizzy and friends books, But Not the Hippopotamus ('where's armadillo?'), and a book of nursery rhymes that Mum found at the library. Oskar and I take turns at singing the songs. I sing Twinkle Twinkle right through and can now sing Baa Baa Black Sheep. My version goes like this:
Blah blah black shing
any many more
yes yo, yes yah
green bags full
one for master, one for game
one for little Daddy lives down the lane.
